Patagonia Snowsuit Review
Ethically Made and Totally Durable
Through the years we’ve made some pretty solid friendships with epic people. One of our family friends raised their son on skis and had some gear to hand down. They offered us their gently used Patagonia snowsuit for babies and we couldn’t be more thankful.
This review is clearly unsponsored by the way.
Reasons we love this snowsuit from Patagonia
It’s warm. I mean it’s really warm. Fynn loves the snowsuit because it allows him to play outside and experience new things while staying snug as a bug. Many people think you can’t take babies outside during the winter but the truth is, as long as you have the right gear you can – and you should!
Fynn loves playing outside. When we first started to put him into a snowsuit I was worried he wouldn’t like the restriction on his mobility. With this snowsuit he retains a good bit of his mobility. Any limitations on his mobility he seems to accept for the tradeoff of warmth.
It’s also easy to get him in and out of. The new models have made this even easier. Babies don’t have a lot of patience. If getting them ready takes too long you can lose your window for fun. So ease of use is definitely important.
But What About Cost?
You’re probably thinking okay great Maggie, but you got this as a hand me down and didn’t have to pay for it. You’re right. That’s one of the benefits of purchasing from Patagonia. Their gear lasts and lasts. After Fynn uses this, we’ll be having a family discussion about whether to stow it away for another baby or hand it down to another friend who can use it.
If you don’t have a friend to hand you down a Patagonia Infant Snowsuit, keep an eye on their Warm Wear site. You can generally find goods here for half of the price of retail. This is a website that the company manages for the resale of their own goods. How awesome is that? It’s just one more step they’re taking to keep the products they make out of landfills and make them even more sustainable.
We became fans of Patagonia when they swung by our local ski resort with a trailer complete with sewing machines and wood burning stove…oh and the offer to fix any broken or torn outerwear for FREE.
