L.L.Bean’s Baby Fleece
The Performance Fleece for Your Pint Sized Hiking Buddy
Our son decided to make his arrival on the coldest day of the year in 2020 so we knew that he’d love winter as much as we do. Big snowsuits are warm but they’re not safe for carseats. At the same time, our Tundra doesn’t fit in our garage.
For safety, we wanted something that wasn’t super bulky, but we needed something warm. Luckily friends of ours gifted us L.L.Bean’s Baby Fleece. These babies are super warm without the added bulk of puffy jacket or snowsuit.

Reasons We Love L.L.Bean’s Baby Fleece
We covered the warmth but we haven’t touched on how soft this fleece is yet. The L.L.Bean High Pile Fleece Jacket for infants and toddlers is “I want to curl up and sleep with this thing” soft. Our son loves how soft it is. I love that the pile of the fleece doesn’t fuzz or pull off.
Its adorable. I mean the fleece has baby bear ears! If that’s not right up my alley here at Outdoor Mama Bear, I don’t know what is. We’re almost off the growth charts and often an article of clothing will fit but not the hood. This hood is nice and roomy, and seems to be super snuggly for finicky babies.
The Hand Me Down Trail
I squealed when I saw this. There is a label stitched into the side of this fleece with the room for multiple names. This means that this garment is not only designed to last, but the company actually encourages you to hand this down rather than rush out and buy new. If you read our Patagonia Snowsuit Review you’ll know this scores major points with us.
We still need to write our name in the fleece but so far it’s gotten a lot of love as the winter has been pretty cold. I’m hoping we get another year out of it because this garment is so darn cute!
