When the Bugs Bite
We’ve always had an issue with bug bits in my family. I’m fairly a sweet target and it seems my kiddos have inherited being a tasty treat for insects. The big difference recently, is the reaction that we have to bug bites. So when bugs bite, we need something on hand that can help slow or reverse the reaction. We found Just Bite Me and haven’t skipped a beat this Summer.
Last year my son was bitten by a spider on his face and his eye swelled shut. We chalked it up to the location of the bite and the fact that he was playing by a wood pile….but then this year he was bitten or stung by something on his forehead. The same thing, super swelling to the point he couldn’t open his eye. Bitten on his leg and it looked like he was growing another kneecap.

I called his pediatrician and was told he has “skeeter syndrome”. I about spit out my coffee. Excuse me? Skeeter? Yup. It’s a thing. And while not serious, it’s down right annoying, especially for a kid in the summer. Skeeter Syndrome is basically an allergic reaction to mosquito bites. The swelling and itching is more intense for every bite.
Right around the same time, we were asked to try Just Bite Me. And why not? A natural treatment for bug bites and their reactions? Sign me up. This stuff has been wonderful. It comes in a tube much like chapstick. The kids are able to apply it themselves under supervision. The first time we tried it, I was surprised at the relief I noticed in my son. The real clincher for me though was when he asked for it the next time he got a bite.

I love the natural and simple ingredients. They are both safe and effective, which is important when you are treating bug bites in children. It’s time to stop wasting your money on products that don’t work, contain extra ingredients, or cost an arm and a leg. It’s clear, easy to apply, and not heavy. There’s no tingle, sting, or anything but simple relief. We’ll be stocking up on these sweet little tubes.
We try to stay up on the bug repellent stickers and do what we can to minimize our exposure, but bug bites happen. Especially when you’re a kid rolling around in the grass, hiking, or just playing outside. But now, when bug bites happen, we’re prepared!
